Dear Students and Families,
It is always amazing to me how fast the first part of the year goes. Here we are already through the first quarter. I hope everyone has settled in and the school year is going well for you and your children. It was so wonderful to see so many of our families at Back to School Night. Thank you again for coming. Please remember that student success depends on a strong home-school connection. With families, staff and students working together we can accomplish the task of providing a “World Class Education” for our children.
The Triangle staff is so appreciative of all our students, parents and community members who were able to attend our “Reading Oasis” themed Book Fair Family Night on October 16th. It was a fabulous event with many fun activities. Our library staff, Jeanne Novis our librarian and Eileen Castro our media assistant, and all of our volunteers have out done themselves this year. We are proud to announce that the Book Fair profits from this year have surpassed all other years. The profits that come from the book fair go directly to our library for books and other materials that are used by our students and staff. We also thank you very much for your classroom book donations.
Our school-wide behavior program is continuing to have a positive impact on student learning. We continue to teach and model our CHAMPION pyramid and our TIGER rules. In October we recognized students who displayed good behavior and good work habits with a Top Notch Tiger award. Students will be able to earn this Top Notch Tiger award each month by following criteria set by their classroom teacher. Please contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions regarding the criteria for this award.
I want to thank all of you for helping to make your children’s education a priority. It is extremely important for all students to attend school every day, but if your child is sick, please call the office with an explanation of their symptoms. If a phone call or note is not received, your child will be marked unexcused. We also appreciate your efforts in trying to schedule dental or doctor appointments after school hours, and scheduling family vacations during school breaks.
If you have not yet scheduled a time to meet with your child’s teacher for a Parent Teacher Conference on Tuesday, November 5th, I strongly encourage you to do so. As I stated in an earlier letter, I strongly believe that parents and staff each play an equal and vital role in the academic success of our students. During our 2nd quarter and through the end of the school year, we will continue to strive for high expectations: academically, socially and physicallyfor all students. It is our mission to put the needs of our students first, by providing motivating, rigorous, and relevant curriculum based activities.
We appreciate all of your efforts with attendance, homework, and conferencing with classroom teachers. Again, thank you for helping to make school a priority for your child! Please continue to check the Triangle website for announcements, information, and upcoming events. If you have any questions or concerns please call or email me at 703.221-4114 or email@example.com.
